Océane has an extensive and diverse background in dance, specializing in Modern, Jazz and Ballet. With her years as a professional dancer in New York City, she absorbed the techniques of Graham, Horton, Cunningham, Limon, Simonson, as well as post-modern forms such as release technique and contact improvisation. Ballet was the constant undercurrent of all her training. Her experience with auditions and touring allow her to prepare students for what is to come in their pursuit of dance. She is passionate about teaching, with the emphasis on musicality, quality of movement, and intention. She has always been drawn to the anthropological aspect of dance, admiring those like Katherine Dunham, and has traveled to Africa and Cuba to study dance and music to better understand the culture and history and how she can apply this facet to her work.
